Kitchen area of the Week: Wood, Green and Entertainment-Friendly

For this Colorado household of 5 that likes to amuse, its existing 1980s kitchen area wasn’t assisting things. Excessive same-tone wood– cabinets, floor covering and a little island– provided the area a boring appearance. And the tight design and absence of effective storage could not manage big events.

The house owners conserved their cash, did some research study and worked with designer Beth Parker to upgrade the area. Parker removed walls to broaden the kitchen area into an unused official dining-room, including 180 square feet to the design and enabling her to produce a roomy walk-in kitchen and a bigger main island with seating and storage. Two-tone cabinets integrate abundant green with white oak and sign up with a white marble tile backsplash, quartzite counter tops and warm brass information for a classy, crowd-pleasing design.
