No act of civil service goes unpunished. The Missouri College Loan Authority (Mohela) installed an effective legal obstacle to the Biden Administration’s $400 billion trainee loan forgiveness. Now the Administration is dunning the trainee loan servicer for issues the federal government triggered.
Education Secretary Miguel Cardona and Federal Trainee Help Chief Operating Officer Richard Cordray stated Monday they are keeping $7.2 million in payment to Mohela for presumably stopping working to send out prompt billing declarations to 2.5 million debtors before their loan payments rebooted in October after the three-and-a-half year pandemic time out.
