Convict Was Discriminative by Counsel After Being Shackled for The Majority Of Her Trial

The South Carolina Court of Appeals reversed and remanded an order rejecting an accused founded guilty of first-degree lynching and murder post-conviction relief, discovering she was prejudiced by being shackled for much of her trial.

According to the Sept. 28 viewpoint, authored by South Carolina Court of Appeals Judge Aphrodite Konduros, Robin Gray Reese was prejudiced by her counsel’s failure to challenge her being shackled throughout most of her trial, along with stopping working to challenge a lead detective’s statement concerning the regret of numerous celebrations in the event.
